风舞: Burgundy Night
Just started to drink burgundy. Luckily, was invited by friends for burgundy wine night @ Crystal Jade Palce yesterday. The food was gorges, which was perfectly matching with the wines.
We started from Jacques Selosse initial champagne first, followed by 2 Montrachet 1995,1997. The two montrachet was produced by the same wine maker but different label. I don’t really know the producer, but you can check the photo. Initially the wines were very closed due to cool temperature. After 30 mins, wines opened up, 1995 was such elegant wine with slightly toast, nutty, slightly high acidity. 1997 was so intense, nutty, oily, buttery, sexy, although younger than 1995, but more full-bodied.

the first red is Lafite 1997 magnum(only bordeux wine), obviously it’s pleasant drinking but also early drinking year. Peppery, smoky, coffee beans, black currants, even with some international style. Not so popular among the elegant stars from Burgundy. One friend joked:” Lafite is just like a young man running here and there, jumping up and down. “
next was Volnay-Champans Jacques Prieur 1990, Volnay-Champans Antonin Rodet 1990, Chambertin clos de beze by louis jadot 1990, Louis jadot was drinking so well with smoke duck. Silky, smooth.
Followed by Musigny Comte de Vogue 1990, still very vividly, very young, maybe a bit Bordeaux style.
Last red was 1978 Volnay Santenots Potinet Ampeau, it’s brick color, so smooth, so pure.
finally, Last bottle: Krug N.V. Rose. Wow! very fine bubble, citrus, pineapple, yeast! so fresh
